The founding of Bering Optics dates back to the Gen I night vision binoculars, introduced in 1998. This product established the foundation for all subsequent classes of night vision equipment available under recognized brands.
 
While the Bering Optics brand was established as an independent business later, the company's prior experience working on OEM projects served as a solid base for developing new, innovative products.
 
The Bering Optics' growth from an OEM specialist to an independent market participant was born from the need for a test laboratory and a proving ground for pilot production before market new concepts and goods to more giant OEM corporations.
 
When it became apparent that many products were of no interest to larger companies, the time came to bring them to the market under a private label in 2009.
 
At the time, the United States was in the midst of a subprime mortgage crisis. Nevertheless, this event left a strong imprint on the new brand and company formation of Bering Optics.
